About Us

How It Works

Illumination is a homeschool co-op that meets weekly in host homes, but comes together in a big group setting for fun events like prom, graduation, field trips, and especially the “Masterminds” competition.

Every week teams of 4-6 students gather together and work towards completing a 34 week program which includes the core subjects: English, Math, History, Science, and Bible. The program runs from August to May each school year.

At the end of the year students come together to compete against other teams.

What do you have for my elementary student?

For K-2nd graders, there is no Mastermind material to work towards, but we do encourage moms to host a 2 hour, weekly group that works on phonics, reading, number recognition, and basic math skills.

For 3rd-5th graders, there is a core curriculum program that works towards participating in the Mastermind Challenge. Groups meet weekly for 2.5 hours to cover English, Math, Science, History, and Bible.

All elementary students are welcome to participate in group field trips and large group activities such as dances, state testing, yearbook, etc.

What do you have for my middle school student?

Students in 6th-8th grade will come together weekly for 3.5 hours to cover core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, History, and Bible.

They will also have the opportunity to participate in group field trips, and large group activities such as such as dances, state testing, yearbook, etc.

What do you have for my high school student?

Students in 9th-12th grade will come together weekly for 4.5 hours to cover core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, History, and Bible.
